Traveling Friends
We totally enjoyed our 5nights at the drift away lake house. The views were awesome, the place was clean, bright and had all the amenities you needed. Bedrooms were spacious and comfortable. Bathroom were clean and showers worked well. The basement was nice and very comfortable. TV’s were awesome and the gas fireplace outside an inside were exceptional. Our group have been traveling together for over 40 years and we have stayed in many places. I do believe we will be visiting again next year. Best place yet.
Beautiful Home
This home is Beautiful! We throughly enjoyed our stay. The only issue we had we didnt understand why a new home wasn’t a little more handicap accessible. There was no railings coming up the few steps into the house which was hard for Three of the five of us. It would have been nice to had safety bars in the shower. BUT.. those aren’t by any means negative to our Week there. It was lovely. Perfect accommodations. We didn’t use two of the bedrooms because two of us can’t sleep in a bed due to neuropathy and other physical issues. The kitchen is fully equipped with everything you need. It’s a Lovely home!!
9th Annual Man-Weekend!
With these trips and other family trips to SML over 20+ years, I have stayed at probably 8 different rental properties maybe. This one was HANDS-DOWN the best!!! Functional, spacious, GREAT spaces to hang and watch football, use hot tub, sit by the fire outside but close to bathrooms, fridge, etc. The indoor and outdoor spaces were just great. The furniture was great, beds comfortable, etc. The ONLY negative or wish-list item is that all the televisions would have HULU live accounts already set up. Broadcasting/airplaying all the live baseball and football on a long weekend was a bit of a pain. And HULU restricts using your own personal accounts at your different vacation locations. A small item, but that's the best I could come up with! :) Thanks! Nick
Parents Weekend
Our daughters attend JMU and we were looking for a house to enjoy spending time together. The house was simply beautiful and amazing. Everyone had their own space, kitchen was well stocked and spacious to make meals together. The jacuzzi was used as it rained and what a great feature to be able to watch TV. Having 2 separate living rooms so the adults could watch TV and the kids had their own space. The paddle boards came in handy and can’t wait to use it again next year. If you are looking for a beautiful house, great views you need to reserve this house. It was also nice to see the deer in front yard and 4 great big bucks.
Cousin Reunion
This house was perfect for our cousin reunion. Nine of us stayed in the house and it was more than comfortable for all of us. When we arrived, everything was clean and well stocked with the basics. There is ample plates, silverware, pots and pans, grill utensils and glassware. Beds were comfortable and the house in general was beautiful!!! There was also plenty of games for people to play, to include corn hole. Would definitely stay here again.
Great place to stay.
The house is big and clean. Right on the lake. We rented a boat for the full week and docked it at the house. Nice neighbors as well. Owners are VERY responsive to any issue.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Drift Away ( Smith Mountain Lake). The house is beautiful and as pictured. Our group enjoyed all the amenities within the house and all the activities close by! We had a great time and planning to come back next year!!!!!

Awesome Girls Annual Trip
The house is beautiful!!! This was our first trip to Smith Mountain Lake, and we were not disappointed. The house was very clean and the kitchen well stocked. The renting of the house was great, had no issues and the instructions were perfect. Everyone on the trip could not say enough good things about the house. The outdoor spaces are amazing. I loved having morning coffee and breakfast on the deck. We definitely plan to return and would recommend this house.

Great Stay
This property far exceeded our expectations. It was beautiful and a comfortable stay away from home. The kitchen was my favorite part, they really thought of everything which made preparing our meals super easy. The men in our group really enjoyed the basement. The outdoor space was great even on a rainy weekend. I would definitely stay here again and again.
